S.T.E.M. (Science Technology Engineering and Math) Engineering Inspired By Nature

We kicked off our Engineering by Nature STEM unit yesterday. Partners were given objects and were to use a magnifying glass to observe the object. Students then completed a worksheet where they drew a picture of the object they had, wrote what they thought it was and evidence why their thinking. Many students came to the conclusion that their object was a seed.

Mrs. Simon also read a letter from Earth Toy Designs, Inc. asking for our help in designing a toy that will stay in the air a long time when dropped. We are VERY excited for this unit! Many students are coming up with their toy ideas already!
