The students decorated onesies for Baby Simon and played Guess The Melted Candybar in the Diaper game. The students also guessed how much Baby Simon would weigh and his name. The weight guesses ranged 4 pounds to 10 pounds. A few of the names guesses were: Joe, Simon, Jason, Karson, Alex, Sam, Job, and James. We will have to wait a few more weeks to see if any of those guess were correct!
The second graders also enjoyed a snack and then presented me with gifts and cards filled with advice for me. Here are the tips given to me by my amazingly smart 2nd graders:
- Show Baby Simon how to play Candy Land
- Make sure you feed him fruits and vegetables
- His favorite team should be the Chicago Bulls
- Make sure he gets lots of play time outside
- Try not to get frustrated
- Let Baby Simon sleep as long as he wants
- Feed Baby Simon a lot
- Don't spoil Baby Simon, but let him be happy
- Tell Baby Simon not to tell you "no"
- Do not let Baby Simon put stuff in his mouth
- Read stories, play, and cuddle with Baby Simon
- Put Baby Simon in a bouncy seat when he cannot sleep
- Hug Baby Simon all the time
- Play ball with Baby Simon
I am so overwhelmed with the love and compassion given to Baby Simon from my students and their families. Thank you so much 2nd grade! You will always be such a special class to me, I will be sure to share all the wonderful things about you to Baby Simon as he grows up!
